Ray,

Can I ask how your handling the treatment? ANy side effects and what? Just

trying to learn from everyone their experiences to see and help me in my

decision. Yes I know we are all different and react to it differently but I'd

still

like to know.

Great News and Keep it up!

Irene

PS...If you are undetectable this early in the game, can that lessen your

time on tx?

Overall I am handling the treatment pretty well. I

mean, I definitely have side effects, aches and pains,

fatigue... the worse thing for me was not being able

to sleep. But after about 3 weeks or so I got a sleep

med, Ambien, and that made all the dif in the world.

I think for a lot of the side effects there are things

you can take that will help. But being tired, that is

just part of it. I know I was tired a lot before Tx;

just from my cirrhosis. They say the symptoms you have

just from HCV are often the same as the ones you get

with Tx.

I have bad dry skin, mostly my legs below the knees. I

used to get rashes in that same area whenever my body

was stressed before Tx, so that is no surprise. Is

worse now, though. I finally let go of the macho thing

and just started smearing body lotion all over it.

Dry mouth, that metallic taste, I got that for sure.

My gums feel inflammed at times, I always brush after

every meal, and have started doing it even at work.

And flossing, very important. Doing salt water mouth

rinses (or waatered down apple cider vinegar, if you

have candida) is a good idea.

I have more stuff on my sides at my blog, where I was

trying to write down stuff week by week.
