My husband and I have decided that he's not going to go (mostly his choice, and also for financial reasons). It would just be too expensive to take 3-4 days to go to L.A. for both of us, and we'd both have to use vacation time, so he's decided that I can just go on my own if I want. SO my dilemma is - sure, I guess I don't mind flying by myself (no biggy there, but kinda scary, never done that before!) BUT I really wouldn't want to have to stay in a hotel room by myself, nor am I sure that paying for the whole room myself would be affordable either! So have people already paired up to share rooms? Would anyone want to share a room? As long as I have at least half a bed to use, (LOL!) i'd really like to split a room with someone. And also are people renting cars, or one or 2 cars and we all might share the cost in that too? I'm not sure how this all works! I really doubt I would need a car for just me! Also I'm thinking I would leave thursday after work and get in around 11:30 or so L.A. time and then stay until Sunday and leave sunday around 11 am or so. I really would like to stay longer but I have something coming up that I will be needing the other precious days of vacation for! So are people still planning on doing a lot of things maybe friday and saturday too? This is all scary to me, I've never gone this far away from home all by myself... I've always went with family or my husband... so I'm just a bit nervous about leaving him, I'm afraid I'll feel weird, esp. since it is our wedding anniversary weekend! Hub has decided we can celebrate early... LOL! So can you all give me advice? I want to get my ticket booked soon while the prices are still affordable... THANKS!! If there's any way you could try to get in a little bit earlier, that would be great (just cause I'll probably be hitting the hay kind of early in anticipation of Friday's classes), but if you can't.....I will definitely come get you at the airport on Thursday evening. >> There are also shuttles that can bring you to the hotel. They are pretty cheap. One is called Super Shuttle. For the life of me, I can not think of any others, but there are many. ~Kat, who will be asleep at that time-sorry

I was going to ask you about that....I wasn't sure how far we were from the airport. If it's not too expensive, that might be an option >> Well, in LA terms, not incredibly far. BUT in normal terms, pretty far. If there's no major traffic, leaving LAX and getting to the hotel would take about 30 minutes. BUT that means there's no traffic (the times you guys are arriving sound good, though). Those shuttles, depending on who's on them, may make stops along the way-which would make the whole thing longer. I would pick people up, but I'll be at either my job or my internship. So I'm not much help. ~Kat, who is drinking a yummy smoothy

So have people already paired up to share rooms? Would > anyone want to share a room? Amy, You can definitely stay with us! We've got 2 rooms booked and Amybeth will be with her husband at a different hotel. So, that leaves Elena, , , Susi, me and you to share the rooms. We can figure out who rooms with who later! Also, Susi and I are renting cars so we can work that out too! You said you'd get in around 11:30pm on Thursday night right? I think is getting in Thursday evening around 7pm, but that would probably mean you taking off all day from work on Thursday and you're probably trying to avoid that! So, whatever works for you.....we'll come get you! Also, I can take you back to the airport on Sunday morning! I'll just try to go to an early class on Sunday so we can get you there in plenty of time! I know it's scary going by yourself, but I promise you will not regret it! When we went to the tapings in February.....me, Elena, and shared a room and we had never met before! It was one of the best times I've ever had and I made some incredible friends. You have already met Elena, and me....so you don't have to stress too much about that and I promise you and Susi are awesome, too! Anyway, you book your flights for whenever it's convenient for you and just let us know and we'll make sure we get you We've already got the rooms and the cars booked.....so you just worry about getting your flight

This city is HUGE. It is impossible to picture or really understand unless you have driven around it. It's amazing when you come in to LA on a plane at night. The lights start way before you ever get to the airport. The first time I saw it, my SO and I thought we were flying over Las Vegas or some other city. The lights probably last 15 minutes while you're in the plane. We were shocked when we realized it was LA. ~Kat, who is not a city person and can do without all of the crazy traffic
