WOW! Then I definitely want another AL2, couldn't miss a workout! How weird. I wonder why they did that! Now I want a new AL1. Or maybe I do now???? Too confusing! ~Kat, who is surprised that the woman I bought AL3 from today didn't know this (or mention it)

I am not really sure why they made new ones! is going to order all of the tapes to check. She is not positive about the basic, but she is sure that the first three AL tapes are new. AL2 is not 7 like we thought. I just thought I would pass that along! We finally have an answer thanks to our soon to be Tae-Bo instructor!! >> Can't wait to hear about it!!!! If you copy a tape for your own private use, not to sell or make a profit in its viewing, it is legal as far as I know Barb who figures if that were not true, anyone who tapes a show on a VCR could be in jail

I don't know why they changed them...I think she said they just liked these newer workouts better. But, it's true.... has changed some stuff since those beginning tapes. Like, with the uppercuts...in those earlier volumes he has them going straight up and down and now he always tells you to cross the center line. So, maybe he just wanted all the tapes to be consistent. And, also he has gotten better as a teacher as time has gone by (he's more comfortable in front of the camera in the later ones)! who can't wait to see the new tapes

Guest guest
Uppercuts are always done across the body in boxing...as are crosses and hooks. Your punch projects from your center as you turn your torso and THEN through your arm. ;-) F LOL yes!! That always confused me! I always wanted to know which was the > " correct " way. Another question (and I hope this makes sense), but in the videos I see some people--like --pushing the arm straight up when doing the uppercuts, and some other people--like Shellie--pushing the arm out to the front. I'm not talking about going across the body or anything, but the actual way the punch is executed. If anyone undersnatnds this, and can explain it in a more logical fashion, please do!!!! I was just wondering if one way was more correct. who has tried doing uppercuts both ways, and still prefers the way showed us in the original Instructional. The way I would go with it is whichever feels best for the individual but I would also like to practice how to land the punch if in an actual defensive position so would love that combat work-out!! I guess str8 up would be a punch under someone's jaw and otherwise would be more of an outwards punch? Guest guest
In the later tapes, makes a point of saying that puching across the body puts less stress on the shoulder joints...RACHELLE, perhaps you've been punching too hard from the shoulder. In Karate, there are punches done straight forward. In Tae Bo, we're not being trained in Karate, which is an intense discipline. Again, , in one of the more recent tapes, encourages folks to punch across the body to reduce the likelihood of injury. Generally, in a fighting situation, crossing the body is more effective...because you're using your center as the origin of your punch. , I hope this makes sense. ;-) F > In a message dated 7/26/00 11:13:26 PM Pacific Daylight Time, > srferron@a... writes: > > << Uppercuts are always done across the body in boxing...as are crosses > and hooks. Since has introduced the new cross- punching technique, my waist is more defined from the twisting motion. I like it also because I can really feel my abs working. I'm not saying I don't like the old straight punches, but I'd rather do a move that works the muscles more effectively and this one has. Guest guest
This is exactly why I thought I got the first two injuries because it isn't until I bought one of the later tapes where says to punch across the body that I started doing this . . . but I still got this third injury. Although I know it helps alot - it feels better by punching across then straight in front. My shoulder was hurting again today although I didn't go into the chiropractor's - I hope I don't regret it later this weekend. I am just so sick of this. I'm not doing anything so little things are irritating it - this is no way to live. I figured if I didn't go into the chiropractor's then I'm not giving in to it. Kinda dumb. I hope it's not the biking that is irritating it. I really hope something changes because life is going to be miserable living with a shoulder like this and I really don't want to live at the chiropractor's. Hopefully the back specialists will have a cure. Sorry to be such a whiner. le > In the later tapes, makes a point of saying that puching across > the body puts less stress on the shoulder joints...RACHELLE, perhaps > you've been punching too hard from the shoulder.
