Really? WOW! Then I definitely want another AL2, couldn't miss a workout!

How weird. I wonder why they did that!

Now I want a new AL1. Or maybe I do now???? Too confusing!

~Kat, who is surprised that the woman I bought AL3 from today didn't know

this (or mention it)

they made new ones! is going to order all of the tapes to check. She

is not positive about the basic, but she is sure that the first three AL

I'm thinking maybe they want all the Live workouts to look alike, and be

taped in the studio, instead of the WTC like the " old " volumes 1-3 were. I

don't think they should have done it though.......I think they should have

just released them as volumes 10, 11, and 12.

you do realize that the original Live 1, 2 and 3's may now become a

collector's item for future Tae-Bo fan(atic)s

Barb

who figures when needing more tapes of the earlier series than what was

originally manufactured, they probably decided to replace them with more

current tapings cuz Tae-Bo and had evolved since then

<gasp> You're right!! Now I don't want to use these ones anymore, for fear

that that might wear out the tape even more. Ugh......what am I gonna do?! I

wish I would have bought extra copies now, so I would always have one in case

one tape got bad.

, I think the first few Live tapes are not copy protected...meaning you can

dub them. I dont think its illegal if it is for your own use.

Who knows Barb will have the correct answer

hm then maybe that is why they were replaced?

If you copy a tape for your own private use,

not to sell or make a profit in its viewing,

it is legal as far as I know

Barb

who figures if that were not true, anyone who tapes a show on a VCR could be

Barb,

LOL....I was thinking that too! I don't know why they changed

them...I think she said they just liked these newer workouts better.

But, it's true.... has changed some stuff since those beginning

tapes. Like, with the uppercuts...in those earlier volumes he has

them going straight up and down and now he always tells you to cross

the center line. So, maybe he just wanted all the tapes to be

consistent. And, also he has gotten better as a teacher as time has

gone by (he's more comfortable in front of the camera in the later

ones)!

who can't wait to see the new tapes

LOL yes!! That always confused me! I always wanted to know which was the

to be more effective and/or safe.

Uppercuts are always done across the body in boxing...as are crosses

and hooks. Your punch projects from your center as you turn your

torso and THEN through your arm.

I know this is an older message, but I forgot to respond to it. LOL. Another

question (and I hope this makes sense), but in the videos I see some

people--like --pushing the arm straight up when doing the uppercuts, and

some other people--like Shellie--pushing the arm out to the front. I'm not

talking about going across the body or anything, but the actual way the punch

is executed. If anyone undersnatnds this, and can explain it in a more

logical fashion, please do!!!! I was just wondering if one way was more

correct.

who has tried doing uppercuts both ways, and still prefers the way

showed us in the original Instructional.

I totally understand what you are saying. I have wondered the same thing!! I

hope someone has an answer! I was planning on asking one of the trainers at

the WTC.

I believe partly why they changed it was that it could look like someone was

punching themselves. The way I would go with it is whichever feels best for

the individual but I would also like to practice how to land the punch if in

an actual defensive position so would love that combat work-out!!

I guess str8 up would be a punch under someone's jaw and otherwise would be

more of an outwards punch?

Barb

who gave up doing undercuts from a horse stance using the bag cuz would miss

the bag when crossing over

Thank you !!! I'm glad I made sense. LOL. Please ask someone so I can

rest easy. This is one of those things that I *need* to know. haha.

who knows Shellie can't be wrong (it isn't possible LOL) But of course the

same holds true for .......so what is right?! ARRRGHHH!

Very good point Barb! Thank you so much for your insight. That's right....in

the newer tapes, always makes a point of telling us not to look like

we're punching ourselves.

In the later tapes, makes a point of saying that puching across

the body puts less stress on the shoulder joints...RACHELLE, perhaps

you've been punching too hard from the shoulder. In Karate, there

are punches done straight forward. In Tae Bo, we're not being trained

in Karate, which is an intense discipline. Again, , in one of

the more recent tapes, encourages folks to punch across the body to

reduce the likelihood of injury. Generally, in a fighting situation,

crossing the body is more effective...because you're using your

center as the origin of your punch.

, I hope this makes sense.

I like the cross punch better cause my waist is getting a good workout too.

I have to agree with Joya. Since has introduced the new cross-

punching technique, my waist is more defined from the twisting

motion. I like it also because I can really feel my abs working.

I'm not saying I don't like the old straight punches, but I'd rather

do a move that works the muscles more effectively and this one has.

This is exactly why I thought I got the first two injuries because it

isn't until I bought one of the later tapes where says to punch

across the body that I started doing this . . . but I still got this

third injury. Although I know it helps alot - it feels better by

punching across then straight in front.

My shoulder was hurting again today although I didn't go into the

chiropractor's - I hope I don't regret it later this weekend. I am

just so sick of this. I'm not doing anything so little things are

irritating it - this is no way to live. I figured if I didn't go into

the chiropractor's then I'm not giving in to it. Kinda dumb. I hope

it's not the biking that is irritating it. I really hope something

changes because life is going to be miserable living with a shoulder

like this and I really don't want to live at the chiropractor's.

Hopefully the back specialists will have a cure. Sorry to be such a

whiner.
