beta-lactam rings are four membered rings formed by the condensation

of an amino group and a carboxylic acid that are two carbon atoms

away and in the same molecule. The condensation reaction yields a

four membered cyclic amide the lactam ring " anillo lactama "

Side chain are chemical groups attached to a main or core group, the

name in Spanish is " cadena lateral "
