Guest guest
Like D just said, everyone should remember that a tp is a last ditch solution. (1) there aren’t enough livers to go around; (2) you have to match one that’s available; (3) you have to be healthy (physically and mentally) enough to get the tp; and (4) you have to have a good enough support system in place for the team to allow it. That’s a lot of if’s. So we all need to try to save the liver we have as long as we can until we have no other possible choice. Marve No such thing as safe. You want to keep yours as long as you can. You want to keep it as healthy as you can. Yes a liver tp has come a long ways over the years. BUT the best choice is always to keep your own as healthy as possible. Until you clear hep c, a new liver WILL be eat up in no time. Even if you clear the Hep, and still qualify for a transplant (not an easy feat to qualify) a great portion of people do not live long enough to receive the organ. Breathing is a big issue on tx. Jerri, Did they give you any breathing exercises?? others here had lots of problems breathing. I did, but my docs would not treat my sides. other than adding extra inhailers to my list of meds. d
