Guest guest
I have always been convinced that Statins cause heart attacks. If the statins cause muscle damage, well the heart is a muscle right? Also statins deplete an enzyme named C0-enzyme q10. Coenzyme deficiency has been linked to CHF and Cardiomyopathy. Look it up in pubmed. I don't trust all those studies talking about the benefits. Follow the dollars. This reminds me of the new block buster drug Lovaza. This is a billion dollar drug made of fish oil to lower cholesterol. Glaxo added a little ethyl ester to make it look good. The average cardiologist says fish oil don't work, but they will prescribe 200 dollar a month Lovaza ( scratches my head) . Phyllis Recent studies published in The Lancet have linked Crestor to a number of serious and possibly deadly side effects, including cardiomyopathy, kidney problems and diabetes. Researchers with the University of Glasgow and Canterbury Health Laboratories found that Crestor users are more likely to develop diabetes than non-users and could face an increased risk of cardiomyopathy or other heart problems.... http://www.prweb.com/releases/2011/12/prweb9059439.htm PDF: http://www.prweb.com/pdfdownload/9059439.pdf see my urine albumin/creatinine ratio chart in Attachments folder... Guest guest
My point, there is no proof that Statins extend life. Guest guest
They certainly prevent deaths in those with CAD who take them compared to those that do not. My assumption is that when you don't die you live longer than those who died. Phyllis: you need to review the literature so you better understand the science of lowering cholesterol by either diet or drugs and its effects on living longer and healthier. Clarence E.
