Guest guest
I too tried to remember that on " reality " type shows the producers definitely edit things and work hard to make sure there's conflict, because it's true they wouldn't have a show. However, everything that they chose to edit in, had to actually be said or happen. I thought that despite the trouble initially getting the midwestern famiy on board they really came around somewhat to what had to say. Having grown up in the midwest, it's big change when you realize that not everyone eats the way that my family did. I have to agree that did come of as quite arrogant and I felt so bad for the other wife, to be completely closed out by the family. Now I understand that she may have said or done things that were not show but those words were still said, and I have to say that it definitely shocked me, knowing the group that works with to have be so rude on the subject of weight. > > > > From: Barbara Colvin <barbara@> > > Subject: RE: Hi Everyone > > To: insideoutweightloss > > Date: Friday, January 30, 2009, 7:43 PM > > > > > > > > > > > > > > See, I think that and the other Mom are coming off as caring > people. > > obviously cares about what's going to happen to those children > and is > > trying to guide them to a better solution. Guest guest
I checked Hulu.com and they have some Wife Swap episodes online but not the one from last night. Check back there in a day or two and perhaps it will be online. I thought that the saddest part of the entire episode was at the very end. They interviewed 's daughter about the experience and she said something like " I guess the other Mom wasn't very intelligent. " Now, that's not a thing that a child comes up with on their own. That's something that's fed to them. I hope that once watches the show, he will see how his actions were portrayed. He acted like a petulant child. He treated another person with disrespect, contempt and cruelty. My *Midwestern* mother raised me to be a better person than that. Unfortunately he's seeding that behavior in his children and it's sad. The worst thing is that this has planted a seed in my mind that reflects badly on and all that I've learned from her. It will be difficult for me to push that out of my mind and ignore it.
