Hi na! Here are a few thoughts...(I listened to several

podcasts again on the ride home from an Easter trip, so you will

recognize 's words):

1. Be kind to yourself. Don't call yourself a failure. You

wouldn't say that to a friend who overate on a holiday weekend, so

don't say it to yourself.

2. Do a re-do like the other person recommended. If necessary, do

re-do's for each of the times you over-ate.

3. Keep on self-correcting. You say you didn't do it well, but it

is the day after your weekend and you are already working on it.

That is probably alot sooner than it used to be. Work on reducing

the time between your overeating and correcting, but don't beat

yourself up that you didn't start earlier this time.

4. Say, " Thank you, Easter Bunny! " That's almost as fun as

saying " Thank you, big burrito, " which just makes me laugh. The

Easter Bunny brought you a present...he pointed out a few areas

where you need to work on how to overcome your triggers to

overeating. Once you work through those, you'll be even stronger

next time!

That was my big discovery while listening to the podcasts on self-

correcting again. I had identified my triggers and done well

because I avoided them. But if you listen to , she suggests

finding ways to overcome the triggers, not just to avoid them. Your

trip just pointed out what some of those may be for you. I know

mine did. I am going to get together with a friend this week and we

are going to brainstorm on how to overcome our triggers (mine are

social situations, especially with alcohol; and eating at

restaurants). Maybe you can do that too.

I am happy for you that you are continuing your journey. I hope you

have a good week of correcting!
