Guest guest
Hello All: Not a lot of activity on the NFP list. I just want to mention that the latest Current Medical Research in NFP has been posted on the USCCB-NFP site. You can learn about the latest research in: Natural Family Planning, Menstrual Cycle, and Contraception as they relate to NFP and an analysis of Catholics, Contraception, and Abortion— from the National Survey of Family Growth- Cycle 7. See: http://www.usccb.org/prolife/issues/nfp/cmr.shtml I wish you all a wonderful new year! J. Guest guest
, Thanks very much for all the work you put into giving us an analysis of these studies. Your analysis of Cycle 7 of the NSFG ought to be required reading for every bishop and priest as well as for everyone in the pro-life movement. Guest guest
: Thanks for your comments. I am afraid that the analysis in the Current Medical Research and the use of contraception and NFP by Catholics might be the good news. I am currently working with a PhD student on the use of contraception and NFP among Hispanics in the US. According to the USCCB -- and the US Census -- over 50% of Catholics 25 years and younger in the US are Hispanics. However, female sterilization is the number one method of family planning. I am also looking at the influence of contraceptive use on Abortion in Cycle 7 -- I hope to have a paper for the June University Faculty for Life conference - at the University of Notre Dame. By the way - ND now has a chapter of University Faculty for Life.
