Guest guest
On translating a patent loaded with chemistry formulas I ran across several terms I'm not quite sure about. Maybe sbdy can give me a hand. *basically reacting* pharmaceuticals - containing one or more *basically reacting* nitrogen atoms *pharmaceutically acceptable* organic solvents - the step of incorporating a *solution aid* *terpene sulfonic acids* - ácidos sulfónicos terpenos (o de terpenos?) *camphor sulfonic acids* - ácidos sulfónicos de alcanfor? The group consisting of aryl sulfonic acid, *lower alkyl substituted* aryl sulfonic acids - ácidos arilo-sulfónicos alquilo-sustituidos inferiores " ? Thanks for any help you can provide. Guest guest
Guest guest
Hi rio > *basically reacting* pharmaceuticals - I would say " productos farmacéticos con reactividad de base " as it sounds that these pharmaceuticals would react with acids, i.e. they are bases or alkalies > containing one or more *basically reacting* nitrogen atoms " con uno o más átomos de nitrógeno básicos " > *pharmaceutically acceptable* organic solvents - " disolventes orgánicos aceptables en farmacia " > the step of incorporating a *solution aid* " el paso de incorporar un grupo que aumente la solubilidad " > *terpene sulfonic acids* - ácidos sulfónicos terpenos (o de terpenos?) " ácidos terpenosulfónicos " > *camphor sulfonic acids* - ácidos sulfónicos de alcanfor? " ácidos alcanforsulfónicos " > The group consisting of aryl sulfonic acid, *lower alkyl substituted* aryl sulfonic acids - ácidos arilo-sulfónicos alquilo- sustituidos inferiores " ? I ran a search on lower alkyl and about 80% of the hits came from patents, so I guess it is patent slang, anyway I prefer " short chain " . It is very easy to see it from this link: http://www.yg-chem.co.jp/eproduct.htm Mucha suerte. GFS

Hola Angel I am a chemist and prefer both " de cadena corta " and " short-chain " only because they are self-explanatory; of course that does not demonstrate anything. " Inferior " and " lower " only give you the idea that those alkyl groups are placed somewhere near the bottom of a series but it does not tell you what series it is. I must agree that it is evident to any chemist that the above mentioned series is a " chain-length " series.
