The very low renin AND VERY low aldo so not suggest cortisol ACTH problem. Did they put u on florinef since surgery? WhAt other meds are u on?Congrats on the DASHing success and just need a little reduction to get below 80 mM/24 hr assuming you gave was mM/24 hr and not concentration. Remind me what your adrenal pathology showed. May your pressure be low!CE Grim MS, MDSpecializing in DifficultHypertension

My latest blood work (11/18/11) showed less than 1 ng/dL of serum aldosterone; renin was 0.13 (0.25-5.82); serum cortisol was 7.2 (10 to 25); K was 4.8 (3.3-5.1); Na was 134 (137-147); glucose was 57 (74-118); and creatinine was 0.7 (0.8-1.7) (reference ranges in parentheses). My endocrinologist is scheduling an ACTH stimulation test to make sure my cortisol is okay. I also had a 24 hour urine test which showed 923 mg (800-1800) of creatinine, 116 mmol (25-125)of K and 88 mmol (40-220) of Na. I would like to do better with my salt and BP.

Since my adrenalectomy on September 19, 2011,I have stopped taking all BP medications and potassium. My BP has ranged from 100/67 to 157/82, with an average of 133/70 for the week of 11/25/11 to 12/1/11. My systolic pressure has exceeded 140 a little over 36% of the time or 17 out the 47 days since I stopped all medications for hypertension. My nephrologist wants to see me again in 6 months with the goal that I reduce salt enough to get my BP under 140 more than 2/3rds of the time. We would also like to get my sodium (24 hour urine) below 80 mmol.

I have felt like I have slightly more energy, but I still need 9 ½ hours of sleep and my migraines are averaging around 5/month with headaches more often than not. I have enrolled in a migraine and intense meditation study at Hopkins, which will start in the Spring of 2012. I still have some tingling and occasionally very mild shortness of breath.

Also, I added my PA story to the Conn's Stories Folder in the Files. It is called Lucy Sage - My Story. I also retook the survey using today's date. Still want to add my adrenalectomy and AVS stories... I need so much sleep that I can't seem to get all my tasks done!
