Guest guest
What dosage did they start you on? I have gastric problems if I go higher than 25mg bid or if I take my doses too close togather because I am late taking one. If you were on 50mg of inspr you may need very little spiro. I'm not a big fan of spiro due to other side effects but it and DASHing have done a good job controlling my symptoms. - 65 yo super ob. male - 12mm X 13mm rt. a.adnoma with previous rt. flank pain. Guest guest
I had some issues at very first when I started spiro - gallbladder like stuff. It eventually passed ......for me anyway, and I didn't need any advanced care. Insurance didn't cover epe for me so I held out and the spiro, now with DASH, is only 12.5 per daySent from my Palm Pre on the Now Network from Sprint You will need 1/2 as much Spiro as Inspra. Guest guest
Good point , my GI issues may have ended when I DASH ed better and went to the lower dose of spiro. Guest guest
Inspra made me very nauseous. To get on it, I slowly increased it while slowly tapering off the spironolactone. I check BP daily and go from there. Have you considered carefully tapering onto spiro and off Inspra? Val>> I have been on aldactone for two days with severe stomach > pain/irritation with bloating. Guest guest
I find it interesting that have been sick since terminating Benicar. There is a Lyme treatment called " Marshall Protocol. Guest guest
Phyllis, I don't know any bona fide Lyme doctor who uses that protocol. I just found it interesting that you felt well on Benicar and are sick off of it, especially when you have so many Lyme symptoms. Does Benicar help your blood pressure? Guest guest
There are some drugs sites that say you need to let your Dr know if you have a auto immune disorder before starting Benicar. Also some sites list it a being used to treat them. Would have to see how true this information is. As part of an experimental treatment for Sarcoidosis, benicar can completely replace the steroid vitamin-D in your body. At low doses it incredibly ramps up immune system activity. At high doses, at 4-6hr intervals it can suppress many kinds of autoimmune inflammation by blocking INF-G. At low doses, it will make rheumatoid arthritis, lupus, MS, sarcoidosis and other AI's MUCH worse. Instant flare at 10-40mg. Its immune system effects could be a real problem if you have an AI condition. > > I find it interesting that have been sick since terminating Benicar.
