Guest guest
I am thinking about putting together a local k9 weight loss challenge and wondered if anyone in the rehab community has any experience or words of wisdom with putting a program like this together... Please e-mail me directly if you wish at wolter.kristin@... Thanks in advance! Guest guest
Dear , Multiple factors need to be considered with weight loss in my experience- Calorie intake for activity and size of dog Activity levels that can be done Proportion of carbohydrate:fat:protein Vitamin and mineral imbalances ( more common than we think) Types of food eaten and any intolerances Digestive ability and absorption ability The inflammation present in the body Hormonal imbalances The last few are often neglected yet are having a huge impact of weight gain or loss. I have read a few articles that only discuss the first few but not the later ones and in my practice, I have seen amazing weight loss with good muscle bulk retained and an increase in ablitiy to exercise with addressing any issues with the last few. It would take a very long email to discuss this further but hopefully this may help.
