Guest guest
Hello all! I have a few questions. I practice both general veterinary medicine as well as rehabilitation on a referral basis. One thing I have found is that my rehabilitation clients are often late for appointments and also often call the day of to schedule an appointment. Does anyone have a great way of handling these situations? We are considering having a form at the initial exam that states appointments start at there scheduled time and if patients show up late, therapy sessions or complete sessions may not be done. Any ideas would be great! Also, I have an owner who brings a baby to therapy sessions. The dog is very protective of the baby and becomes very distracted when the baby is there or when the owner tends to the baby. Now when the owner comes in, I have an assistant help me with therapy and the owner waits in the reception area. I love kids, but having a distraction to the dog when trying to have them focus in an UWTM is difficult to juggle. Does anyone have a no kids policy? Currently, I perform all exams and treatments myself. I do have a technician or assistant available at most times to help but their time is divided on the general practice side also. When is it time to hire on a rehab only assistant? I want to hire before they are really needed but hate to hire them when we are not that busy right now! Thoughts? I always appreciate everyone's comments on this group...Thank you!-- Backlund, DVM, CCRTBacklund Animal ClinicCanine Rehabilitation and Wellness2616 South 158th Plaza Omaha, NE 68130Phone Fax
