Guest guest
Do a google search on " special needs swim diapers " Here's the first link that came up for me. http://www.pooltoy.com/specneedress.html or http://www.mypoolpal.com/specialneeds.cfm Swim Diapers Hello all! My son Tanner, is 9 and not completely potty trained (but, oh, so close!). Everytime we go to the pool, I squeeze his trim but growing body into a size Large huggie swim diaper. But they are really too small. What does everyone else use that might have the same predicament as me? Guest guest
I did do the google search and came up with that link.....disposable diapers are $4 each! A far cry from a pack of huggies for 6.99. I was really wondering what other people with older kids use when they go to the pool and they are not completely potty trained! Thanks, Beth
Guest guest
I think Keifer Swimwear is where I ordered 's WASHABLE/REUSABLE swim suit. It fits like a diaper and you can wear a regular bathing suit over it so no one knows. It's great because it's totally washable and you can use it over and over. And trust me from personal experience with my son at the pool -- it holds EVERYTHING should they have an accident.... M. Guest guest
Beth, I clicked on the second link that was listed and they actually have reusable special needs diapers for swimming for $15.00! My 13 yr old step-daughter is still in diapers and not potty trained at all and we use a plastic tape diaper that is provided through a Medicaid approved Home Health Care Store. When we put her in the pool, I modify/secure them with tape around the legs and waist. We were able to get a prescription from the pediatrician for these and are not billed for them through Medicaid. She now lives in an ICF/MR facility, but when we had her living at our home these were delivered to our home. They sent enough diapers, wipes, and lotion, and pads for furniture or beds a month supply at a time. Diapers were getting too expensive and found that since she receives Medicaid, we could get these items at no charge to us. Hope this information helps. Deana 38, TOTALLY STRESSED OUT! Guest guest
I have not used any yet. We just put my son in our little inflatable pool at home in a regular swim suit. When he has an accident , we just leave the pool and dump the water. He usually squats when he goes so we can tell. We like to go to the neighborhood pool and try some swim diapers but am not sure how it works. What happens to the peepee and poopoo? Won't they still leak to the water? How insulated are there? Guest guest
You can look on ebay and see some of the various types available for adults and kids of all sizes. Then, you can go to the company's websites and read about them. I have used both. The little swimmers for both my kids and then the cloth ones- like a training pant, they have a plastic liner between the fabric/cloth on the outside and the fabric on the inside for my typical daughter who had the occasional poop in the pool. Both held well. Fran ginam wrote: I have not used any yet. We just put my son in our little inflatable pool at home in a regular swim suit.
