My dd is 4 and not presently taking any medications but I'm wondering if this is what our future holds as more symptoms may come up. Thanks > Jen I dont have kids, I AM the autistic kid (22 years old) but right now I'm on: Topamax 400mg (high dose, for seizures and mood swings, sleepiness a bonus with night dose) Neurontin 2400mg (middle dose, seizures & anxiety, sleepiness a bonus at night) Strattera 40mg (low dose, ADD, depressiony stuff, wakes me up in the AM after all those anticonvulsants) Other stuff I've been on (LONG list. Bear in mind my results happen to 0.01% of people. These are mostly for amusement. Im twisted that way.): Anticonvulsants/Mood Stabilizers Keppra-favorite anticonvulsant, & made me happy (abnormal but I'll take it) got a rash, retrying probably Trileptal-tried twice, for seizures & mood, developed frequent drop seizures the 2nd time Tegretol-I liked it for 3 weeks, but it kind of dropped my blood cell count. Really Low. Lamictal-Supposed to make me happy, not just get rid of seizures. Got a rash. FAST. Like, within hours. (s 's Syndrome) Atypical & Typical Antipsychotics Risperdal-good for irritability, rage, sleep. On it several times.lactated (ack) and ultimately got tardive dyskinesia. Geodon-The WORST orthostatic hypotension EVER. Also visual distortions. Lasted 3 days. Seroquel-Got manic instead of sleepy Abilify-Didnt sleep for 2 weeks and lost more weight than I already had. Oops. Navane-Got the worst muscle spasms EVER but it put me to sleep. Thorazine-yep, im a nutter, I got thorazine. I liked it too. Not as cranky, I SLEPT, but also had a half hour seizure. BIG oops. Other nortriptyline-antidepressant. Went manic. Didnt sleep. For 5 days. cogentin-with navane for twitching. Didnt work but made me NOT WANT TO EAT. bromocriptine-last time on Risperdal, to head off lactation. WORST THING EVER!! I was stupid and twitching and didnt recognize my own apartment. Adderall-stimulant. CRAZY. Like, thinking people were trying to harm me by breathing at me crazy. Yay untreated bipolar. I think I left some out...but Ive got a headache...yeah...
