Look at this and then read the complete studies.http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Scandinavian_Simvastatin_Survival_StudyOn Dec 30, 2011, at 12:03 PM, Valarie wrote: Statins lower cholesterol but do they extend life? Val From: hyperaldosteronism [mailto:hyperaldosteronism ] On Behalf Of Clarence GrimYou need to read the classic statin trials. See http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC317299/ Being convinced is often not related to understanding the facts. I have always been convinced that Statins cause heart attacks. If the statins cause muscle damage, well the heart is a muscle right? Also statins deplete an enzyme named C0-enzyme q10. Coenzyme deficiency has been linked to CHF and Cardiomyopathy. Look it up in pubmed.I don't trust all those studies talking about the benefits. Follow the dollars. This reminds me of the new block buster drug Lovaza. This is a billion dollar drug made of fish oil to lower cholesterol. Glaxo added a little ethyl ester to make it look good. The average cardiologist says fish oil don't work, but they will prescribe 200 dollar a month Lovaza ( scratches my head) . Recent studies published in The Lancet have linked Crestor to a number of serious and possibly deadly side effects, including cardiomyopathy, kidney problems and diabetes. Researchers with the University of Glasgow and Canterbury Health Laboratories found that Crestor users are more likely to develop diabetes than non-users and could face an increased risk of cardiomyopathy or other heart problems....http://www.prweb.com/releases/2011/12/prweb9059439.htm PDF: http://www.prweb.com/pdfdownload/9059439.pdf see my urine albumin/creatinine ratio chart in Attachments folder...
