Guest guest
Judging by the radiographs, I suspect thermoplast insert may be needed. However, you can email Ilaria (Therapaw), she's very helpful. I have also sent photos of patients in standing position to them, to help them know what kind of support is needed. Their wraps have worked well in a couple patients I have had in recently. Kim , DVM, DACVS, CCRT Carpal support for bone loss Gizmo is a 3 yo intact female Yorkie who presented with severely matted antebrachuim down to her paws on both forelimbs. Her right was more affected and had a large infected area under the matting on her palmar surface over her metacarpals back to her accessory pad. We have resolved the infection, but there is bony lysis. Until now she has needed a bandage for protection of her wounds which has provided her with support. They cannot afford arthrodesis at this time. Has anyone had a similar condition and if so what carpal wraps have you used? I was planning to try the Therapaw carpal wrap, but I am not sure if I need the custom wrap and if thermoplast is necessary.
