Guest guest
I would talk to Martn Kaufman at Orthopets, his website is orthopets.com. Really nice guy and great prosthetist for animals. Was just presented with a case requiring amputation due to an enormous tumour at the level of the metacarpus- present for years, suspect hemangiopericytoma but not yet confirmed histologically. Owner is interested in maintaining as much of the leg as possible and then having a prosthetic foot made. I believe that I have enough normal tissue to perform amputation at the radio-carpal joint, preserving entire radius and ulna. It may also be possible to transpose the carpal pad to the end of the stump. Have tried referring case but at present client has declined - would like us to do what we can here. Would love to speak to someone else who has performed these surgeries or worked with the patients post-op. Any suggestions? Gwen on, DVM, CCRP ford, Ontario Looking for the perfect gift?
