Yeah, the Versed is a hypnotic and the whole idea is to create amnesia so

that you will not remember the pain. That is because at some conscious level

pain is being registered--not like with general anesthesia. I remember when I

had my wisdom teeth removed they gave me something like Versed (maybe it was

but just before I turned allergic). I wasn't completely forgetful of it

and, consequently, do remember pain. But it was unlike the normal experience

of

painful stimuli. It was more a detached observation that pain was

occurring. Kind of odd.

Hi Janet,

Boy that sounds like a walk in the park. I guess the biopsy " punch " tool

they use is so quick that you do not know what hit you.

Thanks for your input.

Joe,

No pain meds for me. Just went in, they did the biopsy. Used a little

topical lodicaine.

They inserted needle, checked for placement. And it was over. Felt like a

little punch in my side from a 7 year old.

No biggie, went home, got waited on hand and foot. LOL

Ice Cream for dessert, with hot fudge topping.

Before you have the bx,,, sheesh,,

Maybe I gave the wrong impression. I am sure he plans to give me a topical

pain med (I'll make sure he does!!). Just nothing intravenously or orally.

medication did you have for your biopsy and, if you had no pain meds, did you

feel

much pain?

Thanks,

Janet, you are great for picking one's spirits up! Being able to

maintain a little humor is so important for all of us to see. I've just

been diagnosed and I felt like I, well, let's just keep this uplifting!

Thanks! (-;

Mmmmm... After three biopsies with NO pain meds, I'm wondering why

I've never heard of the ice-cream-and-hot-fudge option, and if it's

available for pain relief DURING treatment? Gah, some people have all

the luck! :P

Rose,

As my hubbie often tells me, I am spoiled rotten. Hee Hee

Funny little story, we had been married for about oh 3 years, and he told me " I

have spoiled you rotten!! " " I am going to have to start unspoiling you. "

I replied " You did it you have to suffer the conquences. LOL "

Still spoiled after all these years.
