Guest guest
Hi Folks. It is very important to get the word out about this. In case you didn't know- our government has just issued the mandate that we will have to violate our conscience, and abandon the tenents of our faith. Our Bishops, nationwide, have rallied and this past weekend letters were read from pulpits throughout the United States- even in non-catholic churches, and even in Eastern Catholic parishes. Please, whatever you do, take the time to go to the sites today and read the stories, sign and send the petition to your congressmen and senators. This is all over the internet on every Catholic site. PLEASE PAY ATTENTION. This is so important.Recent stories on this subject: http://catholic.org/national/national_story.php?id=44578http://www.ncregister.com/daily-news/hhs-secretary-sebelius-church-groups-must-provide-contraception/The Link for the USCCB page that discusses this. http://usccb.org/issues-and-action/religious-liberty/conscience-protection/index.cfmThe above listed page has a link for folks to send a letter to their Congressmen and Senators. They just have to put in their name and address and modify the letter if they wish. Example: I modified my letter and sent the following to:************************************************************************ * Senator Kay Hutchison * Senator Cornyn * HinojosaThe content of your message is as follows:Dear [The message(s) you sent had each recipient's name here]: I am appalled at the way the present government has seen fit to dictate abhorrent policies to the American Public. As a nation founded *Under God, with liberty and justice FOR ALL" as individuals, as people and institutions of faith, and those of us who hold near and dear the fact that ALL life is special and created for a purpose by God- we all strongly object to the latest manuevers by the current administration. In light of this, I am asking you to please co-sponsor the Respect for Rights of Conscience Act (S. 1467). This measure ensures that the rights of conscience of all participants in our nation's health care system will be respected. It is IMPERATIVE that you support the 1st Amendment Rights of ALL your constituents, *MOST* of whom are Christian and Pro-life, and ALL of whom reside in the Diocese of Brownsville. Many of the health care workers are Catholic. ALL are individuals worthy of love and basic human rights and care -even if they don't belong to the same faith as I do!Sincerely, Sandrock, APRN, CNM, MSN************************************************
