Guest guest
Penny in OH, You are definitely right! I can relate! My son,4, is exactly the same way. He hits when he thinks someone is being too loud or not following the rules.(Usually his 10 year old sister) He actually goes up to the person and while he hits them he is screaming " NO HIT! " . He also tells everybody to go in " timeout " when they don't do something he wants them to do. My oldest daughter has had just about enough of him. I have definitely had enough of the constant screaming. He just never gives up! Sometimes I can redirect him, other times its a lost cause. He loves the music too, but it doesn't always work. Guest guest
ginnene, do you to shout no hit when he hits for him to associate the script to hitting. If he is hitting and shouting this script it simply means he lacks the words being referenced to his action but has processed the words as a unit to his reaction. So while he hits he shouts no hit because somewhre in hims past ehn he was hitting one must have responded with shouts of no hitting he now appears to associate them both as a unit but not have cognitions they are connected as a response to his reaction of hitting. Guest guest
THis is my first post on this site. My son was diagnosed late November with OCD. He has been in weekly therapy since the first of December and is currently taking Anafranil/Clomperamine. The medication makes him very tired. Has anyone else's child taken this medication? What were your thoughts about this drug? I know this is a very slow process, but it seems like we take one step forward in treatment and then all kinds of new things pop up. My son is holding on strongly to the core of his OCD issues, which relate to not touching me or anything that I have touched. Living life in our house is very complicated. The only safe place in our house is my son's bedroom-where I'm not allowed to touch anything. Would appreciate any thoughts/comments/support! Thanks, Annette
