Judy Ann,

Can't think of any reason why or any context where " normal goat

serum " should be rendered as " negatives Ziegenserum " . Nor have I ever

seen " negative goat serum " . And, last but not least, I ran Google

searches on " negative goat serum " and " negatives Ziegenserum " . Both

returned 0 (zero) hits. Looks like a careless mistake to me.

FWIW

Hi Judy,

Pschyrembel Dictionary not only defines Normalserum as " Serum mit

durchschnittlichen Gehalt der physiologischen Serumkomponenten ... " ,

but also conveniently offers the appropriate English translation

as " normal serum " . Hence, your approach as " Ziegen-Normalserum "

should be perfectly right.
