Hi, I´m , a vet from Spain. I do rehab for 4 years and opened my own

rehab center one year ago. I´v been doing some externships in US and I love the

way you work with animals! Hope you could help me with my case.

Bomber, male, lab, 15months. Had surgery on both hips(TPO), but they damaged the

ciatic nerve and referred him to me. When he came, he had decreased the

propioception and severe muscle atrohpy in right hind leg. With some

neurological stimulation and exercises improved, but in every step he gives did

hiperextension of the tarsus in the left hind leg. I´m trying to avoid it. I

used a boot and/or a bracelet in the left leg and it helps but after some

minutes, he starts with the hiperextension again.

Any advice the how I could avoid it? I´ve seen this in some dogs with hip

dysplasia and some breeds (chow-chow, tshit-tzu...)

Thank you so much.

Dr , DVM, CCRP
