Guest guest
Hey all, Does anyone know of any kind of listing of international Creighton teachers in Latin America? My brother, who has been living in Costa Rica, recently got engaged to a lovely Costa Rican girl. Due to oligomenorrhea and unremitting acne, a local gynecologist placed her on OCPs. They would both like to get off the pill before their wedding this summer, and would also like to get to the bottom of her health situation, as would I. I suspect PCO, and will be trying to work her up trans-continentally. Although they are not seeking to postpone pregnancy, I suggested they learn Creighton so that I can look at her cycles, and they are excited about doing this. Thus, I would love to locate a listing of international teachers, or find a Spanish-speaking Creighton teacher (his fiancee doesn't speak English well) who would be willing to teach them via Skype (video chat online). Any leads would be greatly appreciated!! Feel free to reply to the group or to me directly at: jaimerehmann@.... Guest guest
, I hope that you will get several learned responses about alternative treatments for acne. I saw something advertised on TV recently for acne and two other skin problems including rosy-whatever, I've already forgotten the name of the condition. And I think I ran across something on the internet as well. In short, there seem to be some non-hormonal treatments. As far as NFP is concerned, I suggest that they download from our website, www.NFPandmore.org, our manual Natural Family Planning: The Complete Approach. Free charts are available on the Home Page. They will learn how to monitor, chart, and interpret all the common signs of fertility and infertility. They will learn this and eco-breastfeeding as well, all within the context of Christian discipleship, and they can do so for free, although it would be nice if they would make a $10 donation if they have a credit card. If they want to pursue a mucus-only method, they remain free to do so. Guest guest
Good suggestions, but hyperandrogenism has an underlying metabolic cause. If Congenital Adrenal Hyperplasia, virilizing tumors and hypothyroidism have been ruled out, then the etiology comes down to insulin resistance, hyperprolactinemia or both. The only reason progesterone is deficient in these women is that ovulation is not occurring. If no ovulation, then no aromatization of androgens into progesterone by the corpus luteum. Why not reduce the source of excess androgens? Acne can be a manifestation of testosterone effect on skin. The effect of testosterone on skin results from T's conversion to dihydrotestosterone (DHT) by 5-alphareductase. This conversion is inhibited by progesterone. Therefore, i have seen in my practice that progesterone and vitamin A can greatly reduce a severe acne. Guest guest
Marilyn covers acne and also PCOS (if that is what is meant by PCO) in her book, Fertility, Cycles and Nutrition, 4th edition.
