And a low TSH (a low TSH tends to mean HYPERTHYROID, high TSH tends to mean LOW THYROID people mix that up, but it does not always mean one or the other - as your T4 is low and T3 normal...still..... some call it hyperthyroid, some don't).

I had simliar labs though my T3 was at very end of high normal and I all the hyperthyroid symptoms of POUNDING heart rate (could not even lay down it was so aggravating to feel it), HOT HOT HOT all the time, strange sense of doom, awake for 4 days at a time without even a wink, lost nearly 20 lbs in a very short time...and much more, but because t3 t4 were okay some blew it off. I have no explanation for the other labs t3 t4 being normal in myself, but when my TSH returned to normal so were my bad symptoms related to hyperthyroid gone. The PA symptoms were there as it was yet to be diagnosed.

I have 2 sisters diagnosed with hyperthyroidism and my mother had it and died at 84 pounds, I learned recently in my sisters that they have a low TSH, with symptoms of hyperthyroid, but a t3 and t4 just in normal range like me, but don't know what moms values were as she died at age 38. There is more recent discovery of a familial hyperthryoidism that comes and goes or does nothing at all with those having a low TSH and normal other labs and runs in families. Maybe that's our family, but I am not paying for genetic testing just yet since it hasn't returned and it went away on its own . They thought that was the reason for the dangerous HTN I had but nope....THAT part never went away neither did the weakness until they found the PA. But to have symptoms of hyperethyroid and low potassium was horrible.

What have they said about your thyroid?

well from your tests we see 2 things1- You have PA ( ARR ratio ) I hope you are already on spiro and dashing (dashing is the keyword ) 2-You have an elevated cardiac risk.Other things that seem to be abnormalish are the GFR for instance it's high but that's cause of the PA I think, considering that your potassium was taken correctly it is ok>> Hey guys im new and i have pretty bad symptoms...i was told you guys could advise me on my results. Here they are:> > Estimated Glomerular Filtration Rate: 136.6 mL/min (50-70)> Potassium: 4.3 (3.5-5)> Sodium: 138 (136-145)> chloride: 104 (97-108)> GGT: 8

Blood Na does not tell much usually. AFGain need you complete detailed story. Tiped sad Send form miiPhone ;-)May your pressure be low!CE Grim MDSpecializing in DifficultHypertension

oh sheesh im so sorry. i really dont know much about all this but thank you so much for explaining :) thats really nice of you

Well i live in the Mediterranean and my diet is already high in salt...and i am eating even more salt than normal because my blood pressure is on the low side too. the only thing i have not done is drink the salt with some water twice a day....do you think this may help??

even after eating more salt my sodium levels have not increased at all only my potassium has gone down slightly....i will post tonight :)

spiro....right ive never heard of this...and you guys take this to lower your blood pressure???

i find that lowering my thyroid medication lowers my blood pressure even further 85/54 but increasing the meds increases my blood pressure slightly to maximum of 109/69 if im lucky the problem is my pulse goes mad at 0ver 100 bpm...so i dont know what to do...do any of you here suffer with hashimotos disease or hypothyroidism??

my Endocrinologist and GP said my sodium aldosterone rennin and potassium where fine...(ill never get help at this rate) ive been like this for ages....ive actually had problem since i was 14 ...but i always thought it may be issues with sugar never even heard of sodium problems

My dad got very sick the day before yesterday and i had to take him to hospital twice after 12 hours of hearing him scream in pain...hi blood pressure went up and he went red and sweaty i was so scarred because he had a major heart attack in the past and also has diabetes high cholesterol angina etc.....

they inserted a catheter because he could not pass urine :( poor man they took out a whole litre....

when all was over after being so stressed and being up for many hours with him i finally collapsed in my bed....yesterday was horrible...i felt like a truck had run over me...i had to keep gasping for air i was so tired...my eyes where blurry i could not think or talk...i could barely eat my muscles felt like lead and they hurt i felt so weird....this morning i couldnt wake up...still feel like i need air i feel dizzy and so exhausted...i felt more exhausted than yesterday....even though ive slept 2 full nights :(...

do you think this could be due to lowish sodium?? I was scared i might pass out and i dont even know why!

K is the potassium levels.    Are you just taking t3 meds  or are you on other thryoid meds to support your tsh levels.   My doctor checks my tsh, t3, t4, reverse 3 and 4, thryoid antibodies and periodise as these all affect the thryoid levels.  With all these done, that was how we found out I had hasimotos thryoid and meds for me have to be changed every two months (after labs of course) as I go from hyper to hypo

Do you get copies of your labs from your doctors that you can share with the group.  That might also help trying to figure out your  situation  Has your doctor run 24 urine for potassium, sodium, creatnine .  that is also a good indicator of what might be your issue

you mentioned that you live in a country where salt on foods is high.. perhaps from your comment that you have increased it to raise your bp is the issue.  your body does need some sodium to function but increasing it especially when already high is not a good thing.   your kidneys are not liking this at all.

im sorrry gosh what is pa??? arr ratio?? spiro??? so sorry ive been unwell this week so y brain fog doesnt help :( yikes

i havent been able to dash anywhere in over 5 years! lol im as slow as a snail

how can i get rid of my cardiac risk????? my GP who is a cardia specialist says i have a abnormal heart rythmn...thats all i got from him for now...he lowered my T3 thyroid medication and my heart rate has dropped alot....from 120bpm to 52 bpm at times....but im worried because my blood pressure has dropped even further....82/54....

i was on 50mcg of t3 and he lowered to 10mcg of T3...but ive increased to 25mcg as my blood pressure has lowered more and my change in heart rate is drastic....also started getting the insomnia again the hallucinations/nighmares fevers night sweats,,,swelling burning in hands swelling in ankles...heavy heavy muscles...tiredness etc...

only thing that improved was the tiredness from having a constantly high heart rate all day and night and also some of the dizzy spells on standing..though i still cannot keep my balance on standing or holdng things still with my hands and sometimes i still get the dizzy spells...though less than when i had a higher heart rate...

sweating makes my heart race...stress too...sometimes also it happens on its own...strangely caffeine doesnt make too much of a difference..that is weird...and offcourse i have no strength in my hands or arms or legs :(

any of this sound familiar?? along with bruising (ive probably forgotten things..which reminds me my memory is a huge problem )

Dr Grim. not to worry about kickbacks and me causing the insurance rates to go so high. My husband lost his job which gives me no healt insurance other than tricare. My the time any amount is left that tricare covers, it comes out cheaper for me in the long run to be a self paying customer for these tests.

We have found he longer I go on the same meds without having my tsh 3 and 4 tested along with a few others like cortisol, the worse my health becomes

Sorry I am not the what you consider the typical patient.

Dr Grim. not to worry about kickbacks and me causing the insurance rates to go so high.

I have hasimoto's thryoid and the thryoid was removed in 2009.   I have put copies of my thyroid results as well as others on in the files.  He needs all these tests because I tend to go from hyper to hypo and no matter what the meds are my levels constantly change.   Since you seem to be wiser with my thryoid issue perhaps you can tell him why the meds are not working with me and what to do about it.

Hi, where about's are you in the UK? I have had Conns for 10 years but for some

reason I was under a Cardiologist who didn't refer me to Endocrinologist.

Anyway, after a trip to A & E due to fainiting they discovered my Potassium

reading was very low and referred me to Endocrinologist.

His name is Professor Wass and he treat NHS patients at the Radcliffe in

Oxford.

High GFR is seen in many with PA, DM and HTN. Risk is glomerular damage. Need 24 hr urine for CCr to get good estimate. Another way is to track 1/PCr on y and time on x.This way you can see which way Ccr is going.CE Grim MDOn Sep 23, 2011, at 8:13 AM, Francis Bill SUSPECTED PA wrote: Most labs in US give Estimated Glomerular Filtration Rate grater then 60 with no high end. Dr Grim, I hope you meant “Low GFR”<60 otherwise I am in deep trouble! My GFR>80 Max.62M L adenoma by NP59 scan. High aldos not low renin. med combo #76={Spiro=100, Amlo=10, Indap=2.5, Ramip=5, Metf=1000, Crest=20, Feno=67, K.Cl=120 mEq}{K=4.7}{not DASHing but low-salt diet} High GFR is seen in many with PA, DM and HTN. Risk is glomerular damage. Need 24 hr urine for CCr to get good estimate. Another way is to track 1/PCr on y and time on x. This way you can see which way Ccr is going. Thanks , very informative page on GFR.Max. ||[mailto:hyperaldosteronism ] On Behalf Of | |Max, I'm sure the number is something over 89 as the old measurement for CKD|Stage 2 was eGFR = 60-89 (I don't recall ever seeing a high number.)
