Hi there Carol, and Welcome!

I know I lost LOADS of weight during my treatment (almost 100 pounds), and

am currently taking steps to keep it off! You didn't say if you were on TX

currently or not, but if so, that may be the culprit.

As for feeling tired, and the yellow eyes, you need to drink more water

sweety! Also, your body is fighting as hard as it can, and you might have to

get

used to taking things a bit easier for a while. Heck, I had to stop

woodworking all together cause I couldn't sit up long enough to finish

anything!

Also, check with your doc, and see if there is anything they can suggest,

and as always, gather as much info as possible! This groups archives are a

great place to start!

Strength to you Sister, and remember, neither of you are out ther alone.

Peace,

D

Carol said <<how do we know when it is chronic ?>>

Get to your doctors office and tell him all these things NOW.

Hep C is chronic when you do not clear the virus within the first 6

mo of contracting it. When the viral load is not zerio after the

first 6 mo, then you are chronic.

Any yellowing of the eyes or skin is JAUNDICE. This needs to be

taken seriously and you need to see your gastro. He will probably at

the very least prescribe much rest, lots of water. Your liver

enzymes are probably elevated. I had to rest 3 months for mine to

return to normal. but they've been normal ever since (over 10 years

ago).

Please take care of yourself and see your doctor. List all your

questions, no matter how small they might be. I'm no doctor, so I

can't tell you what is what, only my opinion and my opinion is you

need to be under a doctor's care as long as you have hep (any hepper

does).

Good luck and let us know what your doc says :)

My appetite comes back after treatment and then I eat and eat and eat.

I gained 30 pounds after each round of treatment. I was up to 205

pounds this year but I'm back down to 170 now.

hi carol, well I'm new on here as well and like you have no idea why (or even if

i can believe I'm positive) Ive had lyme disease and chronic fatigue and now hep

c... anyways what id say worked really well for me was cognitive behavioral

therapy (CBT) dosnt work for all but ask your doc about it. i went through six

years of falling apart and it did wonders for me. its about keeping to a rhythm,

eat at the same time, rest at the same time and so on. its worked around you but

helps you with daily goals. puts you in control.

kepp strong,lol
