HI Brigette My name is D and I am only 23 so I can understand how you feel about having this chronic illness at such a young age. It is a hard thing to deal with. Most of the time you can not pin point the moment you were infected with hep c. I am different then you for the fact that I have tattoos and pierced every spot in my head and drug use but not iv. I think I got mine from the tattoos i recived from a "friend" at home. But i can not say for sure. I do know that you can get it from getting your nails done petacures and manacures if they are not cleaning thier stuff properly. Thats why now you shuld not share nail clippers and razors. After learning about my hep I went to get a petacure at what I thought was a really nice place clean and stuff. After they were done with me they just rinsed the tools they used and then tryed to use them on another person. Anyways this group is great they are alll really good people with lots of info and

friendship to give. We are all here to listen and answer questions. Take care. You can always e mail me if you want to talk. brigette2448706 wrote: Good Morning Everyone!I am new to this group, I found out on Friday that my 1st Hep C test came back positive and to be honest with you I dont know where to even begin! My Dr. took more blood work because he said this could actually be a false-positive, for some reason he said these tests are hard to read or something, has anyone ever heard of

this? I am 25 and have NO idea where I could have come into contact with this diease...I have NEVER used IV drugs (Monday was the 1st time I have ever had my blood drawn becuase of me fear of needles) and have led an extremely low risk lifestyle. I dont know if it is too forward to ask if anyone here knows or thinks they know where they got Hep C? For me that is part of my fear, I have no idea how long I have had this, I am only 25! I have an appointment with a liver specialist on Wednesday so hopefully I will find out more because, as I am sure you all know how scary this is! My ALT level were 101 when I had my blood work done on Monday, as a Pre-OP for an ovarien dermoid cyst removal! Any information would be so helpful at this point, I would LOVE to sleep tonight! Anything that I should stay away from at this point, I know drinking is one of them! I look forward to getting to know everyone and appreciate a site

like this, at least I am not alone! Thanks Brigette

Good Morning all.

I don't mean to sound like a Den Mother, cause I'm not.

Justa friendly reminder that snorting drugs is also an easy way to

spread the virus.

Normally, most that snort very much have weakened and raw teeny

veins in the nose membrane. It used to be a joke, with my crowd,

that if I didn't get a bloody nose for apparently no reason, it

must not have been a good night. Sometimes I could just be

standing, and the blood would flow. Bend over to pick something

up?? What are you nutz??

I am a little sensitive to plagues, how they started and how they

are spread.

Many/Most will NEVER use a needle to cop a buzz,because that's just

plain stupid!!!.... or the needle fear in general but.... 95% (my

guesstimate only)), will take a free hit from a straw from a hottie

smilin' at me saying do ya' wanna' party with me? Issues , which I

call real life issues, seem to be put on a back burner and go

unnoticed, or at least not in the forefront with toe nail clippers.

God Bless,

Del

Welcome! You'll find this is a wonderful, safe place to vent and share ideas!

new

I have a 10 year old who was diagnosed with anxiety and OCD. We are

starting counseling every week and she was put on zoloft. She is

worried about getting sick all the time. If someone coughs, sneezes,

or says they do not feel well(along with a whole list of things) she

freaks out. We have started her on listening to sounds of this and it

is going ok so far. She also has rules to follow and if she doesn't

she or someone will get sick. We make her break her rules, but more

seem to follow. We have been working with her for a year and a half.

I did not want to put her on the meds, but she had trouble dealing

with it. I hope someday she can go off of it.

This is why I am here
