Guest guest
Get this folks, I have been having insomnia. That is nothing new alot of people get insomnia when they are on treatment. Tried all the remedies, warm milk (lactose intolerate, but heck why not if it makes me sleepy. I can put up with the stomach upset). Didn't work, and well you don't want to know. Tylenol PM is what my doctor told me to take, Yeah right. Okay took it for a while when it happened. Woke up the next day groggy and grouchy. Not a good thing. Finally I gave up. On those nights that I can't sleep, I go ahead and get up. Get on the computer and read email. Well that worked for a while. I would eventually get sleepy and then I would crash on the couch. Well, email quit doing it for me. So I have began to surf websites, well there is only so many medical websites you can go to before you start pulling your hair out. And believe me mine is thinning again. Not bald, but thinner than it was before. So I started going to snopes.com, to check out the urban legends. Those are pretty amusing. Then like a junkie looking for a giggle fix, I started going to gigglestop.com. Oh my there is jokes there so old that your grandma is younger than some of those jokes. But funny, Lord yes. Then in a effort to get a better giggle, I found other joke websites. Here I am not sleepy, but laughing my ass off. I found a whole new side effect, uncontrolable laughter. It really got bad this morning. I crawled back into bed with my husband this morning. And as I am drifting off to sleep his clock radio alarm goes off. I start giggling like a loon, my husband raised up on one elbow and looked at me. He said what are you giggling about. I said to him, I am just picturing you with that radio stuck up your butt. He was like what the hell?? I said it is Saturday, and you have the alarm set, and I was just wondering if I could do it?? He threw a pillow at me, and rolled over to go back to sleep. I giggled myself to sleep. Cool side effect to have huh!! Love Janet
Guest guest
Janet, you are wicked! LOL! Poor hubby ;-) Anyway, funny how things work out eh? I was reading your email whilst waiting for a webpage to load (hands up all those guilty of multitasking online!) and I found this........ http://www.ripleys.com/games/iq.html This should be good for those sleepless nights AND if you tell me you've solved it, I'll be right over to bonk you on da head for being so smart! Hehehe On a more serious note, have you tried Melatonin for that insomnia honey? Available at healthfood shops and some grocery stores. It's all natural and works for many people. Thinking of you Love anne Whole new side effect Get this folks, I have been having insomnia. That is nothing new alot of people get insomnia when they are on treatment. Guest guest
Hee, hee, Janet, glad to know a sense of humor is a side effect of the TX if I ever go on it1 Great story! I've had insomnia problems for years. Last year, in another effort to quit smoking, I plunked down $1,000 to Positive Changes, a 12 week hypnosis program, to help me quit. It didn't, but it helped me to go from 3+ packs a day to under a pack a day, I call that progress. They taught me that all hypnosis was self-hypnosis, which it is. So I use the self-hypnosis thing when I can't sleep, because rest does the same thing that sleep does. I also bought a side-sleeping pillow from Linens 'N' Things - I now sleep like a baby, which I need to do because I recently got a maniac puppy who has me up at the crack of dawn! But I *am* gonna have to check out those websites! Marilyn Whole new side effect Get this folks, I have been having insomnia.
