Guest guest
My Daugter Hailey isn't potty trained either and wears cloth diapers, she always has an odour aswell.. I could never quite figure it out.. Hailey will be 5 Next month March 12th, she is FAR from potty trained.. -- Is it a girl smell? My daughter is 4.5 and isn't yet potty trained, she wears pull-ups. She seems to have a " smell " about her. At first I thought it was just the wet pull-ups but now I'm thinking differently. Do girls this young have (....for lack of a better word) a vagina smell? My nose is very sensitive to smells and I don't want her to go around like this if it could be helped. Is this normal because that area can't breath like with panties? Anyone else have an issue like this? Could it be diet? She's gluten free and were getting her re- tested for casein. Guest guest
I'd go over to one of the biomedical boards and ask this question. Certain " smells " often indicate an overabundance or deficiency in one thing or another. one biomedical board is ABMD and another is AUTISM-MERCURY > My daughter is 4.5 and isn't yet potty trained, she wears pull- ups. > She seems to have a " smell " about her. Guest guest
Yes my daughter who is 6.3 years old has a smell also but she is potty trained during the day and in pull-ups at night but I can give the child a bath and 15 minutes later that smell is there like she had not had the bath. I have a older daughter that has never had this problem so I am not sure what to make of it, also for some reason her urine always has this really bad smell to it not sure how to explain it but it tends to gag me when I smell it and I have a pretty strong stomach and it takes a lot to get me sick. Guest guest
Strong urine and vaginal odors can be due to dehydration, infection (such as bacterial vaginosis), vitamins or foods. I would have a urinalysis and culture done to rule out infections. Guest guest
I was just going to mention all these myself. Bladder infections/vaginal infections are common in girls, what suggested is right on line. Guest guest
Faye, So do you mean it's like it is exuding from her pores like a body odor? Can you describe the odor a bit more specifically and I might be able to help you better. Can you tell if it mostly happens at night or is it all the time? > I am not sure if it is a vaginal smell from my daughter though, she > just > has a bad odour to her all the time, always has... > > > > > > > > -- Re: Is it a girl smell? > > > > I was just going to mention all these myself. Guest guest
I think it would be a body odour yes.. she just smells like she hasn't bathed in a long time even though she has a bath every night before bed. -- Re: Is it a girl smell? > > > > I was just going to mention all these myself. Guest guest
Faye, Well without smelling her myself it's hard to tell. From what you've said it's a pretty obvious unpleasant odor. Take her to the doctor and stick her/his nose over by her and say " what in the world is this odor and how can I get rid of it? " Chances are they have smelled it before and might offer some suggestions to you. That's just not right and it sounds like a systemic problem of some sort. Any other health issues with her? > I think it would be a body odour yes.. > > she just smells like she hasn't bathed in a long time even though she > has a > bath every night before bed. > > > > > > -- Re: Is it a girl smell? > >> > >> > >> > >> I was just going to mention all these myself. Guest guest
Hi, My daughter, now 6.5 yo and HFA had a strange smell. As suggested below, may be metabolic. Once we had testing done and began treating metabolic problems the smell has gone away. Good luck > > > Yes my daughter who is 6.3 years old has a smell also but she is potty > > trained during the day and in pull-ups at night but I can give the child > > a bath and 15 minutes later that smell is there like she had not had the > > bath.
