Hi Beth,

Sounds like you had a heck of a morning! I don't know if you have already tried this and it didn't work but I am able to take Logan's undershirt off, wash it, and put it back on. They even give us an extra one after each casting so I can have a clean one ready when he needs it. He is five years old and of course potty trained during the day and mostly potty trained at night (does have night accidents sometimes and then we use the GoodNites boxer short style pants..which he calls big boy pants and they work perfectly)

I know it sounds like a chore but it is really quite simple after you do it once or twice. It only takes me under five minutes to do now. You just have to pull it through each hole as you go along. The front mushroom shaped cutouts make that part easy and then the hole in the back helps too. Once you get it through on small spot on the bottom it all slips down really well. I always lay him down to do it and have him move from one side to the other to give more space in the cast depending on which side I'm working on.

Of course you can check with your doctor first if you would feel more comfortable. The nurses at Erie are amazed how easily I can do it and I always tell them it's not hard at all (even they have a hard time believing me..LOL!!). When you have a child walking around smelling like urine (or worse) you find you will do anything possible to help them and that is how I found out I could do that..out of pure frustration and sadness for him.

I hope this helps
