new blood work and more problems

Larry just got the results of his blood work done, Now we have always

had low cholesterol HDL really low... the day of the heart attack

9-16-03 total 134, Hed 19, LDL 93, trig. 112, 12-02-03 total 92, HDL

21, LDL 66, trig 118 . 4-25-04 cholesterol 127, HDL 26, LDL 54, LVDL

46, trig. 234, chol./HDL ratio 4.88 LDL/HDL ratio 2.07. and from 12-

03-04. Chol. total 184, trig 219, HDL 22, LDL direct 145, we fought

with the other doctor about zocor and what it did to him, now the new

one wants to put him on Lipitor. I argued with him, if one causes

side effects then this one will to. OH NO,,, i am wrong. He likes all

the other vitamins and supplements he is on, Asked him ( just to be

nice ) if there was anything in the supplements or vitamins that he

could take to lower it. Nope, this is the best possible thing, well

we are doing that. His blood work has been messed up, he is now pre-

diabetic, high blood pressure, Metabolism problem. and they think

sleep apnea. that test will be in January sometime. I am mad no one

will listen, he is feeling so much better being off zocor, starting

to feel like himself again, a littl. Now this. He never had any of

these problems till the heart attack and quad by pass. Well had to

vent, it won't do any good to tell Larry he does not listen., Thanks

Has the option of Niacin been discussed? It is usually very good,

especially with HDL. It is not perfect, has side effects...but might

be the lesser of two evils. Maybe even Niacin with smallest stain

dose

(like 5mg Lipitor)possibly might work for him.
