Guest guest
My autistic daughter will be 2 on the 20th. When she gets excited, she throws her arms in the air and shakes them while opening and closing her fingers like a wave as well as kicking her legs or stomping her feet. Then she'll stop abruptly and do it again. It's exactly what infants do. What do you think this means?

Guest guest
From your description it seems like she is " stimming " , an autistic gesture produced during an anxious or an excited moment. My daughter did those since she was 6 months old and she is 14 now. does anyone's child do this? > My autistic daughter will be 2 on the 20th. Guest guest
---My own daughter doesn't do this at all (autistic aged 15), but used to rotate her wrist alot, but now has stopped that too. A friends daughter does do just what you describe when she is upset or excited. Does she stop if you tell her to? My friends daughter will stop, but starts up again quite soon after.
