twoyears ago, and got another X5 Gold just some three months ago,both from through Amazon.Strangely, I find the latest one feeling "stronger" than theearlier one. And yes, it feels stronger at the beginning. I don't know why there's such a big difference. My daughter, whocould easily start compression for exercise number 8 in the chart (pressing the unit by the handles in front of the chest) could hardly start a movement with the newer unit. And I don'tthink there was any deterioration in the spring of the olderunit. The second one just really presses back with greaterforce. I don't know if the full compression force would also be stronger for the one just bought. I think both would have the same lengthtravelled to full compression, so the later model should end up with a stronger force?Gerry
