Guest guest
This reminds me of the Cam Jansen books. I don't know if all of you are familiar with them, but the girl has a photographic memory and she says " Click " to take a picture of whatever she wants to remember. I think I'll keep my little one (who blinks) away from the books :-). ________________________________ To: OCD < > Sent: Friday, January 9, 2009 9:09:17 AM Subject: Possible Hoarding Suggestion: Photos Hi all, Even though I originally posted about how to handle hoarding, I just thought of something that has kinda helped us with my daughter's hoarding of trash and " organic " things that will disintegrate. ..she started asking us to take photos! Of a snowball, an icicle, a funny shaped potatoe chip, a clay sculpture that was biodegradable, Christmas cookies, etc...so that has actually helped us some, at least with stuff we really cannot keep around. Of course it doesn't help with the tons of toys she won't part with... But now she is taking 'photos' with her blinking, which is becoming a more frequent problem altogether. She blinks to take pictures of stuff as she walks around the house. It started with the CD player in her room at night changing the song number display. Now she also adds a " whirring " sound to it, like a camera functioning. Interesting.. Maybe the photo thing has backfired! :-)
Guest guest
Although that could benefit them in school...only my 'photographic' memory could picture the layout of the page, the illustrations and everything, but could NOT focus in on the words well enough for me to read them! :-) Subject: Re: Possible Hoarding Suggestion: Photos To: Date: Friday, January 9, 2009, 7:49 AM This reminds me of the Cam Jansen books. Guest guest
Our son took photos too, of everything, even old shoes that didn't fit anymore, when they had to be parted with. That worked for years, until his computer got so full of photos that he decided to go back and look at them. He started deleting them because he couldn't even remember most of the stuff anymore, even when looking at a picture of it. lol Whatever works! He didn't do the blinking thing though. He also will not part with old toys. Still has some of his baby toys.
