Dear Group, Sorry about the bold type. I copied a blogger's comment on oral progesterone at end of my friend's email and could not get rid of the bold type. My friend is concerned about the safety of oral progesterone. See her email below. Any comments from the group would be appreciated. Sheila

A friend wrote: "I noticed in this infertility story a reference that some oral progesterones can cause genital defects in babies. I heard somewhere else that it can cause "midline defects" (not only genital but tongue tie and others). Have you come across this? She says that pg cream does not cause the same problems. I took oral progesterone with my second child "just in case" and the line coming up from her buttocks curves a little at the top. I wondered if this could have been due to the oral. Also, a friend of mine's daughter had a fused vagina, and she used oral pg. She refused it with her next baby and he was born healthy. Just wondering your thoughts."

Person blogging on infertility story said: "I took an all natural progesterone cream (the natural creams do not cause birth defects in babies, just some of the oral types." Sheila: No reference was given for her statement.
