Guest guest
Hello Listmates, I would like to teach my son to play age appropriate games. He is 11 and moderately autistic. I would like some ideas on how to tips for teaching him to play video games. He has a Game Cube and he just got a Game Boy for his B-Day. I need help since he is the only child at home. Do any of you all have any visuals? How did you get him/her interested in the system? I maybe making this a bigger problem than it really has to be. Any ideas, tips, comments will be greatly appreciated. Thank you all in advance for your help. HAPPY THANKSGIVING!!!
Guest guest
I taught my son how to play by teaching myself first. We had an old Sega and he had gotten a Toy Story game for it for Christmas. Every morning for 15 minutes I would force myslef to play this Toy Story game (really made me angry when my elder NT kids would come by and say, " You always say you're busy...we didn't know that you had time to play video games! " aaaagh!) Finally, I got to the sixth level when I thought I would go ahead and try him on it. It just took a few times and then he took over and began to insist on playing by himself...I know he got to the the end of the game. He is very particular about the games he plays though so be careful when buying. Or, if you don't have the patience, maybe you could hire a teenager to teach him or you, since that may be the fastest route. R.
