Guest guest
This came up in an e-mail reading group and one of the member asks, why we don't read more mysteries.... You read from bottom up.... This was an eye opener for me...how about You? b ---I have the same brain problem---it's caused by my fibromyalgia---I belong to an on-line support group for Fibro and I run the Book and Poetry Corner--we're always talking about how hard it is to follow a book with a winding plot or a lot of characters---I'm reading " The Geographer's Library " right now and I have to flip back every time I pick it up because it goes back and forth in time, and to different characters each time it moves back in time. Arrrrgh! Andi mary banecks wrote: OK...now if you guys help me, I'll try some mysteries...I have brain processing weakness.... Now you all say....WHAT IS THAT YOU, NUT!!! I have trouble following too many characters and keeping the story from being a scrabbled mess in my mind... I have a confession...Our book, we wrote and are still in the middle of.... I had problems following that, and trying to connect the dots of who said what, to whom it was said, why it was said, what does that mean and who do you think you are...cuz I forgot! I wrote the dream sequence, since I knew the dream and it wasn't scattered.. ..My stories come from what I know, lived through, or survived....I don't have a imagination.....It has to be non-fiction that makes good fiction stories....There's my secret.... If it's like the Da Vinci Code, I'm OK.....but too many characters, locations and people popin out all over etc...I'll be off in dream land..... Like I always say, be glad the brain works at all, and I thank God for what I have, and that ain't a mystery book person....b PS Before Hormonal replacement, I went to a Lady's day of speaker at my church and I couldn't understand what she was talking about...so I took the bus home.....A great lesson on humility.........I'm better on hormons.....
