Each experience has been pre-approved by the Behavior Analysis Certification Board for 15 hours of continuing education credit and is designed to be completed over 6 weeks. Registration is now open for the first course: Verbal Behavior Theories and Applications. Through this course, you will learn about Skinner's analysis of verbal behavior as well as contemporary theory on the functional approach to understanding language. You will also discuss the functional independence of verbal operants and their application in training settings. Other topics include: different methodologies on how to assess language acquisition; teaching various language skills through augmentative and alternative communication systems and a possible synthesis of Skinner's analysis of verbal behavior with modern behavioral language theory.
