Guest guest
CFLs burn out quickly if they are not left on at least 15 minutes. That means they are worthless for places like closets. I had to remove CFLs from my house; they gave me terrible shakes. First I took them out in my office and could feel a difference but left them in the kitchen as a trial. Every time I tried to cook, I got the shakes and cut myself. So now, they're gone out of the house, period.   I have some neurological damage from Lyme and don't know if I will ever be able to tolerate the CFL- emitted frequency. I'm stashing real light bulbs and will put any remaining balance in my will.  Sadly, the last remaining American light bulb factory recently closed. So put a bunch of Americans out of work, make them pay more for a new product, and fix the product so it lasts only as long as the one it replaces though it was touted otherwise.....but at least we can have peace of mind that were saving the planet because the Chinese have impeccable standards and only manufacture things the global warming save the planet way (ooops I mean "climate change" )! ....and because mercury is more safe for people and the planet than just a glass bulb is. Guest guest
From Wikipedia Federal legislation In December 2007, many of these state efforts became moot when the federal government enacted the Energy Independence and Security Act of 2007, which requires all general-purpose light bulbs that produce 310–2600 lumens of light[33] be 30% more energy efficient (similar to current halogen lamps) than then-current incandescent bulbs by 2012 to 2014. The efficiency standards will start with 100-watt bulbs in January 2012 and end with 40-watt bulbs in January 2014. Light bulbs outside of this range are exempt from the restrictions. Also exempt are several classes of specialty lights, including appliance lamps, rough service bulbs, 3-way, colored lamps, stage lighting, and plant lights. By 2020, a second tier of restrictions would become effective, which requires all general-purpose bulbs to produce at least 45 lumens per watt (similar to current CFLs). Exemptions from the Act include reflector flood, 3-way, candelabra, colored, and other specialty bulbs. In 2011, Rep. Joe Barton of Texas and 14 other Republicans joined to introduce the Better Use of Light Bulbs Act or BULB Act (H.R. 91), which would have repealed Subtitle B of Title III of the Energy Independence and Security Act of 2007. Barton was opposed to regulation, while Rep. Burgess pointed to jobs purportedly lost to China and voiced a fear of mercury problems resulting from CFL use.[35] On July 12, 2011, H.R. 2417 failed to pass by the required two-thirds majority in the U.S. House. > > > > Val, > > > > Can you, please, put me as a heir for your bulbs?
