Is it possibly " non-echogenic " ? Although on cursory web-searching, I'm not

getting any hits for +echocardiogram +nonechogenic (tho' there are hits for

+echocardiogram +echogenic as well as for +nonechogenic -- i.e., the word

does exist and is used, apparently -- without adding in " echocardiogram)...

I don't have time to thoroughly search for you but what I will do this, for

instance in http://www.altavista.com is:

search +ecocardiografia +rif* +arteria (results: 15 pages)

it is also a good a idea to search only in Italy in

http://it.altavista.com/ to find sites using your term or related ones.

http://www.cbi.polimi.it/tbio/corso/cap1/ecog1-2.htm

http://www.ifc.pi.cnr.it/attivita/Processing/Abbate/Abbate.html (English &

Italian)

Search also the expression " eco riflesso " in Italian.

Good luck

Hi. This was an interesting thread, to which I didn't reply earlier because

Marla and Jo Ann seemed to have it covered.

http://www.italpromohealthgroup.it/nam2_00b.pdf

I think this article establishes synonymity between ecorifrangenza (in the

main text) and ecoriflettenza (in Schema 6).

So it could be translated as reflectivity or, more popularly, echogenicity.

Refraction does come into play in echocardiography:

http://cal.nbc.upenn.edu/lgcardiac/echo_tutorial/principles.htm

- but English speakers rarely if ever refer to " ultrasound refractivity " .

(Some hits in Google for " ultrasound reflectivity " , but none for

" ultrasound refractivity " .)

In the context (though without all the context), anechoic and borderline

sound right to me.

Best regards

Coilín.
