Laurie,

Thank you very much, and I would love to visit with the company and see their research and/or references. I don’t mean to sound contradictory to all the different modalities I just find it how some of the companies choose to market their devices. Again, clinical observations from respected clinicians, while often overlooked by the Evidenced Based Medicine crowd, are still at least some level of evidence. Thank you taking the time to respond and contact others!

Hi Rick,

Me again, different weblist and product. I actually just bought an MLS laser. I looked at it only because my husband convinced me that I at least needed to know as much as I could about the class IV lasers to see if they could improve the care we give our patients. I have utilized different Class III lasers over the last 8 years (Next, Q1000, Respond, Microlight, Spectravet). The company convinced me to try it for a month. With my busy schedule I was in and out lecturing and ended up having it for 3 months before I started using it. I usually use my Q1000 and LOVE it. It took me another 2 months to realize the potential of the machine. I find it has similar results to acupuncture for pain associated with OA. I have had a common calcaneal tendon strain that was 3 times normal size shrink 50% during 1 treatment and other such cases. It is definitely more efficacious, for most of the conditions I use it for, then the Class III lasers I have used. This is not to say that the Class III lasers are not great. I think most of them have great value and the individual laser purchased needs to fit the " needs " of the practice it is going into. I do like the idea that one of my technicians can use it and that frees up a doctor. As to research, they have a research article on using the 808nm, the 904nm, and the combination of the two in their " special " way. If I remember correctly it was done with human subjects in Italy and used a pain scale to measure effectiveness. I do not have the article with me right now. I would love to get you to review this as I put great value on your interpretation of research. If you are interested, I can contact the company and get them to email me the research that I can then pass on to you.
