Guest guest
Hello again!I was reading some past posts on Wobbler's and would like to revisit recommendations for treatment and bracing. An 8 year old Weim diagnosed with Wobblers in 12/08 has been referred to me. MRI showed severe cervical vertebral malformation at C5-6 and C6-7, changes from C4-C7 spinal cord indicate degeneration. Previous steroid therapy resulted in strong side effects of PU/PD and lethargy. The dog has progressive weakness of the left fore and hind limb. Owners have elected not to do surgery. What are thoughts on cervical/body braces? I am not trained in acupuncture but we have an acupuncturist in town. Any other treatment recommendations? Right now the dog has no obvious discomfort. Thanks for your thoughts!-- Backlund, DVM, CCRTBacklund Animal ClinicCanine Rehabilitation and Wellness2616 South 158th PlazaOmaha, NE 68130Phone Fax
