Guest guest
Hi there! Can anyone help me with these words? Context: coarctation of the aorta " Correction of the coarctation is performed either percutaneously in the cardiac catheterization laboratory or surgically. The usual surgical repair involves end-to-end anastomosis of the aorta after removal of the area of coarctation. Other types of repairs include a subclavian flap repair or patch angioplasty of the coarctation segment. " subclavian flap = retalho subclávio??? patch angioplasty ??? I wonder whether I should keep the word *patch*? Any ideas?? Then, in the context of tetralogy of Fallot: " Repair of tetralogy of Fallot includes closure of the ventricular septal defect and opening up of the right ventricular outflow tract. The latter often requires a transannular pulmonary incision and placement of a pericardial patch on the right ventricular outflow tract. In addition, there is commonly a need to augment the main and branch pulmonary arteries by placing patch material in these locations as well. The patch on the outflow tract crosses the pulmonary valve annulus and usually no valve is inserted at the time of repair, resulting in pulmonary insufficiency in patients undergoing complete repair. " MTIA! Love and sunshine always, Cássia Nasser :-) xoxo galore!
