Guest guest
Amy Diet is the single most important thing, fish oils in partiuclar as a supplement or oily fish eaten three times a week, weight control is also v. important (I have put on a lot of weight from the insulin resistance and lack of exercise due to gross fatigue. I am addressing this and being very successful with a low-carb wholefood diet, organic where | can afford it, real food as opposed to poinon food i.e. processed. Cholesterol is produced in the liver I think?? The info I have was from a very large study of Vietnam vets who were positive. /and yes I was offered statins which rise ALT and are uneccesary with proper nutrition and reasonable exercise. All the best to yu all Mo
Guest guest
Hi Amy I am waiting for my next cholesterol test. The position I have arrived at is to make health my goal, not just viral clearance. I came off the treatment at 8 weeks because of the lack of competency of the doctor at the hospital and the GP, too much ignorance and prejudice and lack of support, lack of communication between the health professionals at my expense. So NO I said, I will not submit myself to this until such time as you guys get your act together. That was 2 years ago. I am waiting for the next available treatment, might be 5 years or so I am estimating. In the meantime, after feeling v. sorry for myself for a while and vegetating, I decided to take myself in hand which means I am on a healthy food plan, not with the sole intention of losing weight though that is happening, but with the intention of being the healthiest and happiest OI can be. So I see a psychotherapist for my emotional issues, a healer for my spiritual stuff, and I am starting to take responsibility for my own health for perhaps the first time - I am 55. The doctors cannot do this for me, only I can make that commitment to myself and that has been a big turning point for me. The numbers become less and less relevant as a yardstick by which to judge my progress. My thinking is if I continue to continue to value myself and my body and not fill myself with toxic food, toxic relationships, toxic thoughts and emotions, attend to my spiritual needs as a priority and make all of this second nature, then all will be well. The difficult bit for me is reaching the point of being able to make that decision, to opt for health and happiness and n#know that no-one outside of me can do this for me, I can only do it for myself. May sound obvious and I have known the theory for some time but just recently I feel able to put it into practice. Mo
Guest guest
Dear Mo, Our patient has insulin resistance, too. Has your treatment finished? If so, has your resistance recovered? Or has led to diabetes? Our glucose level is 106. We don't have any sugar. We lost a lot of weight. What about your cholestrol? Has is dropped to normal levels? Thanks ----- Re: cholestrol > Amy > Diet is the single most important thing, fish oils in partiuclar as > a supplement or oily fish eaten three times a week, weight control > is also v. important (I have put on a lot of weight from the > insulin resistance and lack of exercise due to gross fatigue.
