Guest guest
Hi! I'm thinking about providing " consultant training services " and would like to get feedback from parents/clients on what kinds of attributes/skills they feel a good ABA consultant should possess. I am also posting a similar survey for ABA professionals. (It should be interesting to compare the two lists!) If you are interested in providing feedback, please follow the instructions in the next paragraph. (If this message posts and the list gets jumbled, feel free to email me privately for clarification.) The following is a list of skills/attributes/services that may be important for a good ABA consultant to have. Please rate from 1 on up in the order of importance, with 1 being the most important. Then, cut and paste the list with your ratings and email to me at this email address: amy@... -Knowledge, experience, and training in ABA methods as applied to children with autism -Providing customized services (preparation of materials, consultation reports, conducting team meetings)depending on client's needs -Ability to explain ABA techniques/methods in terms that clients find easy to understand -Good " people skills " ; empathy for clients -Ability to organize and conduct effective consultations -Providing timely responses to client's request, questions, etc. -Willingness to work 1:1 with clients as part of training -Developing/providing a good data collection system -Ability to write effective reports, evaluations -Good organizational skills; handling administrative tasks efficiently & effectively -The use of a systematic procedure for training therapists; effective use of handouts, modeling, observation, feedback, evaluations to train therapists -Knowledge of latest research findings in ABA -Other: Specify Please feel free to include any comments!
