Hello, everyone...

My name is Ann and I recently discovered that someone very dear to me

has HCV. It is my ex-husband. I hadn't spoken with him for years,

but God put him on my heart around Christmas and I sent him a card.

That is when I got back in contact with him and his mom, whom I was

always close to but lost contact when I remarried and started a

family. It was after about two months of contact with them that SHE

told me about being infected. He had apparently asked her not

to inform me, as he didn't want me to " feel sorry for him " . But, now

I know and want to help but I really don't know a whole lot about

this disease or what it is that I CAN do. I'm hoping that I can find

here some information that doesn't go WAY over my head and maybe some

good friends that can help me and my " ex " family go through some very

tough times ahead. I haven't spoken with since I found out

about him being infected. His mom told me that she informed him that

I knew but it hasn't been mentioned yet. I haven't talked to him on

the phone (he's in Cali and I " m on Oregon) since then... have only

communicated via USPS since then. I'm afraid to mention it to him in

fear that he will ostricize himself from me, which I truly do not

want to happen. I want to help! I'm very open to any ideas and

suggestions that you all can throw my way. I'm not a great " reader " ,

as far as big books and huge articles of information... I get lost.

Probably the ADHD in me. LOL But... little by little I am a great

learner! Thank you all so much, not only for being here, but in

advance for any and all help you can possibly give me and '

family... and, of course, .

In struggle and in strength...

~Ann
