Guest guest
Good day all, For about one year I did barbell strength training (only compound exercises) 3 times a week and I managed to gain about 20kg of mass by combining it with a great diet. Recently I have become unemployed due to the poor economic situation we are living through and I was forced to sell my squat rack and barbell to raise some cash. Now the only tools I have to train are a set of gymnastic rings, two 16kg kettlebells, a couple of weight plates, a Bullworker X5 and of course, my own bodyweight. Recently I have been training with bodyweight exercises, aided by the gymnastic rings and loading progressively with the plates - doing pull ups/chin ups, push ups, inverted ring rows, leg raises, pistols, handstand press ups, kettlebell front squats, kettlebell swings/snatches/presses, etc; still three times a week, with some moderate cardio in between. However, I am finding it hard to gain strength and muscle mass with these methods. Earlier on I read through the files here and I found " Dan's Intense Training " program, which seems to be quite good. Dan recommends training 3-4 times a week with the Bullworker. I was considering incorporating his program into my current routine. For example, on Mondays and Thursdays I would do the bodyweight/kettlebell routine I have been doing, and on Tuesdays and Fridays I would do " Dan's Intense Training " routine, with Wednesdays and Weekends off.
