Hi Lynn

Welcome to the list. My name is Tracey and we have two daughters, Coral age 13

(NT) and Skylar age 11(diagnosed autistic at the age of 3). We live in a small

town in Ontario, Canada. This is a great group. It is good to have you with

Hi all,

Glad to find this group.........My dh and I live in PA with our dd,

Abbey, age 12. We have another dd who is currently serving in the US

Air Force, stationed in Guam...

Our dd, Abbey is diagnosed with PDD-NOS. She also has mild MR. Last

School year we decided to enroll her in a virtual charter school here

in PA. This has worked out for the most part. She is involved in

many social activites and enjoys these alot. Currently they are

mostly with other special needs children. The gap has really

expanded between her and her typical peers. In Pittsburgh, as

everywhere I suppose, girls in the spectrum are hard to come by. I

look forward to hearing all your experiences and sharing information.

Did I meet you at Pressley Ridge in the fall? I am Inna and my daughter

is Sara, 5 years old.

This is a wonderful online group. I know you'll enjoy it.

Inna.

Hi Lynn

Welcome to the group ! I am Diane and my dd , 10 is pdd-nos as

well. Yes it is very rare to find another girl on the spectrum. I

have had her psychologist arrange for to meet with other girls

her age with similar personalities, on the spectrum so that she can

make friends . So far she has successfully made 2 very good friends.

As she is getting older, she is having les and less commonalities

with girls her own age and she is finding it frustrating socializing

trying so hard to be like them. Being with other girls on the

spectrum is so much more relaxing because they can relate to each

other and just be themselves.
